Reece: Here and Now

Hi everyone!
So I figured since I'm new to this blogging thing, I'd give you a quick overview of who exactly Reece is and what he's all about since he's pretty much the most amazing guy ever!!! JK!

I am currently a junior at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. I love it! I am studying to become an elementary teacher. It's a lot harder than it sounds. Don't let class titles like Children's Literature and Math for Elementary Teachers fool you. My application for the program is currently submitted and under consideration for the Fall of 2010. If all goes as planned, I will graduate in May of 2012 and I can begin a very fulfilling career as an educator. My ultimate goal in the education field is to gain my Ph.D and become a teacher teacher, a college professor who helps prospective teachers prepare to enter the teaching field. I have had a lot of influences over my life that have helped me to make this decision. I love and appreciate all who have helped me in the journey so far.

I am also involved with a performing group at Dixie called Raging Red. We are a show choir whose main purpose is to go out and recruit students to choose to attend Dixie State. This is my first semester in the group and so far I have loved it. There are a lot of great people in it and I am learning so much. I am especially excited for the group's trip to China this May. I've been saving for a while now. I've never been east of Utah so this is kind of a big deal for me.

I currently hold a position as a front desk clerk at the Comfort Suites hotel here in sunny St. George. I enjoy my job. It has several perks. I get to meet so many different people. I also get to do my school work when it gets slow toward the end of the night. I have great coworkers and awesome, caring management. Did I mention the employee rate when it comes to staying in other Choice hotels!?

Welcome to the Blogging World!!

Hello all!!
So I've been thinking about getting a blog for a while now but I never got around to doing it. My life isn't that exciting so I wasn't sure what I'd be able to post in order to keep anyone's attenttion. Now I am taking a technology class at Dixie State College and I am required to have a blog so here I am. I finally have an excuse. It'll probably take me a while to get into the swing of things but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon.
