So last Saturday I was schedualed to have my group interview for admittance into DSC's Elementary Education program. I signed up for an interview time weeks ago. The time I had entered into my phone was 8 am. After a long wait, the day finally came. I got up early and I got all ready, I even gave myself a few minutes to study up on some controversial educational issues. I drive over to campus only to find an empty parking lot and locked doors to the building I was supposed to be in. I started to get a little nervous as I waited for for than twenty minutes and still no one turned up. I drove around campus to see if I had written down the wrong location. Nothing. I decided to go home and return in an hour or so to see if it started later.
I headed back to campus at about 9:45 am and to my horror, the parking lot was filled and the light to classroom where the interview was being held was on. I ran to the door and saw that the group interview had already started. I was devastated when I found out that it had actually started at nine. I talked to Dr. Sabey afterwards and she said she would talk to the faculty to see what they could work out in my behalf. It was an awful mistake and I feel horrible. There is only a small window of hope for me to be accepted into the program now. I just pray that the faculty sees me as someone who would never really make that mistake. Now I'm playing the waiting game.
